Allison Coffin

Allison is scientist and an entrepreneur. In her day job as a scientist (associate professor) at Washington State University Vancouver, her lab uses zebrafish to study the mechanisms of hearing loss and to develop drugs to preserve or restore hearing. We also examine the effect of aquatic toxins on fish, specifically on fish sensory systems. In this role she leads a team of 10 people, including postdoctoral fellows, graduate students, undergraduate researchers, and high school interns. She is particularly passionate about mentoring young women in STEM.
