APPALACHIAN

PREDATOR

PROJECT

How do coyotes interact with foxes and bobcats in the NC mountains?

Aimee Rockhill, assistant professor at WCU is trying to find out.

Using GPS collars, trail cameras and live traps, we are studying how these predators are interacting, sharing food resources and partitioning territory. All while giving WCU students an opportunity to learn skills they can later use during their career.

We also want to learn how foxes, coyotes and bobcats in more urban and densely populated areas behave.

Are YOU interested in research being done in your property?

We are looking for new locations to deploy our cameras and our collars.

We are also seeking interested individuals that would be willing to fill out a short survey about foxes, bobcats and coyotes in their area.
