Sara is the director of the wildlife diversity program at the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission; she is also a mom, a diversity warrior and a shore bird whisperer. Sara loves to teach about shore birds, manages dozens of volunteers each year during bird surveys, and works towards diversity and inclusion in the conservation field. Outside of the field, Sara loves attending rap concerts and spending time with her son and husband. She is an outstanding defender of women in conservation, making sure everyone has a place in the field.
